"Retail manufacture industry is the second most polluting industry on earth, second only to oil. […] The value of craftsmanship and provenance has been lost. Price and speed are trumping value." (The Guardian).

In the past few years, established retailers have tried to implement sustainable practices in their supply chain, from sourcing material to monitoring the process of production, to reducing energy consumption in stores, and emerging players within the industry have put sustainability as an embedded feature of their business.

The panel gathers professionals from different backgrounds involved into sustainable practices in the retail industry. From corporate policy makers, to designers, the discussion will bring together stakeholders dealing with the price of sustainability across different business models, taking into consideration the impact that it may have on purchasing decision of the most conscious consumers.
