The Italian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and Macao is delighted to co-host the annual China Seminar with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong. This year's theme for the event will be "Growth in China; balancing opportunities with risks". The event will be held on Thursday 27 March, from 18:30 to 22:00 at the Langham hotel, Tsim Sha Tsui.

While the attractiveness of China as an investment destination is currently questioned by analysts, there are still companies increasing their presence in China – through acquisitions, investment, organic growth, etc. During this edition of the Seminar, you will learn more about the drivers, (risk) strategy and experiences of business expansion in the current Chinese market. The seminar will address various industries to offer a comprehensive understanding. Take advantage of this valuable opportunity to improve your insight into China's changing trends!

As always, this event is a "must attend" evening, in order to reconnect on all the latest relevant views on China: it will start with welcome drinks, followed by a Chinese-style dinner where our distinguished speakers will share their insightful views, followed by a panel where all participants can join to ask questions. The evening will not finish prior to serving some farewell drinks, to make sure you can reconnect properly with many of your business friends again.

This annual flagship event has been organised by the Dutch Chamber's China Committee since 1992. Each year we aim to review, discuss and analyse in depth key developments relevant in China and for businesses active in China. Bryan Chan is a seasoned leader in global logistics and cross-border eCommerce, with over 40 years of experience shaping China’s trade landscape. As Chief Commercial Officer of Spring Asia/PostNL, he drives strategies connecting Asian and European markets, leveraging his deep expertise in China’s logistics ecosystem. Previously, as Managing Director for TNT Express in Greater China, he played a key role in strengthening China-Europe trade corridors.

Beyond industry, he has influenced trade policy through the Hong Kong Logistics Council and mentored future leaders as a professor and industry advisor. With a unique blend of strategic vision and hands-on experience, Bryan is a trusted expert on China’s evolving eCommerce sector, offering invaluable insights for businesses looking to navigate Asia’s opportunities.

Curtis Chen joined Aegon in March of 2017 as the Head of Business Development and Strategy. This was a newly created role created in order to accelerate the development of new innovative business models and formation of ecosystem partnerships in the region. Curtis is a member of the Executive Team reporting to the CEO of Aegon International. He has been working in Asia for 24 years across a variety of senior executive roles in financial services. Prior to joining Aegon, Curtis served as Managing Director and Head of Strategy for ANZ Bank’s International and Institutional Division, a $7.5 billion business spanning 23 markets in Asia Pacific. There he undertook a major digital disruption initiative for the retail bank starting in India with an ecosystem partnership and a branchless banking model. He also led ANZ entry into Thailand and Myanmar and guided a 300 MM/Year divisional capital allocation process. Curtis has also worked at ABN AMRO Bank both as Head of FIG Coverage and as MD of Strategy and Corporate Development, where he led 2 control acquisitions and formed 3 equity JVs. He started working in Asia in 1996 for Aetna International, Inc as they expanded into ASEAN markets. Prior to that Curtis worked for 7 years in New York for Booz, Allen and Hamilton. Curtis holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from Columbia University and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
