Italian design has traveled throughout the twentieth century, leaving an indelible mark on how the shape of everyday objects is perceived in contemporary industrial society.
This "Italian way" has succeeded, through a complex and hesitant process of industrial innovation and new technologies, to develop a culture of independent and multi-faceted design, combining the rich tradition of craftsmanship in the country with an aspiration often fiercely opposed to modernity.
Boffi | de Padova, in collaboration with the Italian Chamber of Commerce, presents a panel discussion with leading Italian architects and designers of Hong Kong, engaging them in a roundtable talk about the new trends in Italian design, as well as the design industry in Hong Kong.
The panel discussion will be followed by drinks and light refreshments.

Founder and Director at M2A DESIGN
Debora Marzocchi is an Interior designer & Project manager Consultant, Founder and Director of the exclusive Italian Boutique interior design Studio M2A DESIGN, in Hong Kong.
She obtained her Bachelor and M.Sc. in Interior Architecture at Politecnico of Milan in Italy, and specialized in the high-end retail field designing boutiques for some of the most prestigious fashion luxury brands like Max Mara and Canali.
As a great ambassador of Italian design, she moved to Hong Kong in 2008 where she founded her own Interior Design studio, proudly rooted in her Italian values, and with a portfolio of projects in the Retail and F&B fields all around Asia.
With strong creative skills, she is very positive and energetic, always ready to learn something new, and doing everything with passion and enthusiasm.

Cavanna
Professor of Architecture & Interior Design at HSUHK - EDC
Laura Cavanna is an Italian architect with a strong focus in interior design, currently working in education. Based in Hong Kong and having experience working for various types of agencies and institutes in different countries, she learned to appreciate and adapt to different aesthetics, preferences and cultures. With each role, Laura had the unique opportunity to work with other designers and have built and led teams where she drove innovation and creative thinking.
Raffaella
Bernasconi

Raffaella Bernasconi is an Italian Senior Interior Architect. Graduating from Milan’s Polytechnic in 2003, she opened her own interior design studio in Italy and gathered a very broad experience designing residential projects and retail stores all around the world. From Europe, she then decided to bring her expertise design eyes into the Asian market. She arrived in Hong Kong in March 2014. Raffaella worked as a Senior Architect for DOID Ltd company in Hong Kong, doing luxury residential projects. From 2015 until 2017, she collaborated with different architectural companies in Hong Kong like Enzyme Apd and Parallel Lab as an independent architect, interior designer. In 2017, Raffaella founded Bernasconi Design Ltd and has been the director of her company ever since.
Valeria Pola

Valeria Pola cultivated her passion for design graduating with a master’s degree from the faculty of Product Design at Politecnico of Milan university. After working for a couple of years in Milan for several design studios (James Irvine, and Lorenz & Kaz, Pagani & Perversi), she moved to Asia. Valeria has been living in Hong Kong for almost 10 years and she embraced the Asian market influence and enjoyed all the different projects she has been involved in. She started to work with Sean Dix, well-known in Hong Kong for his restaurant design and its bespoke furniture pieces. She then had a brief year in Benoy, a British company that specialized in malls and retail design. And then she spent 4 years in HBA, refining her taste for luxury and crafted, discovering and enjoying working in the hospitality field. In 2019, Valeria opened her own firm, Pola Zanoni Limited, a multidisciplinary studio with a focus on interior design projects, ranging from hospitality, commercial, residential to product design, bringing together all her past experience and of course a bit of her own personality. She is also a part-time teacher of residential and F&B courses at the Insight School of Interior Design in Hong Kong.
